Descriptive Writing — Creative Writing 練習ワークシート
Descriptive writing paints a picture using sensory details — sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch. Strong description helps readers experience the scene rather than just being told about it.
"Show, don't tell" means replacing flat statements ("She was scared") with concrete details ("Her hands trembled as she reached for the door"). Specific nouns and vivid verbs beat generic adjectives.
Organize description spatially (left to right), chronologically, or from general to specific. Too many adjectives create clutter — choose precise words instead.
